I urge the Crinum grower to study up on cultivation requirements for better, healthier bulbs and blooms. -In the open garden, growing in clay sandy based loam in a raised garden bed and a river sand compost over the top has been successful for the following Crinum species: C. bulbispermum, C. macowanii,C. fimbriatulum, C. carolo-schmidtii, C. graminicola, C. minimum, C. moorei, C. variable, C. buphanoides, C. lugardiae and Australian types of Crinum flaccidum. Hybrids derived from the above species do well in these conditions too. Feeding is with blood and bone twice during the season. A dose of poatash once every two
